Interview with Demi Boelsterli

Ok, so I have this friend. She goes by a few names around here, Demi, D-bowls, "that girl at Rincon that just got a 12 second barrel" and "that girl that hucks her fins in places I didn't know existed." Scroll down and you'll get the picture. She shreds, but the best part about her goes far beyond her abilities in the ocean. She has a beautiful mind, and a caring soul, and I feel lucky to say she's my friend. I caught a few words with her a couple days back... here are the results... 

Ok first off, what is your name and age?

Demi Boelsterli i am 20 years old.

What are your favourite things to do when you're not surfing?

i like to do quite a few different things, really depends on my mood...im really in to finger painting right now, i also like to attempt to make music, i really like ridding my bike, and taking photos, also i enjoy to reading, writing, talking with like minded people, and wandering around the homelands.

Who are some people, alive, not alive, close, or famous that you look up to or that influence you?

So many people help me out to be inspired. I am influenced by so many things and it seems to change daily, recently i've been influenced by a lot of music, the tallest man on earth, Gillian welch, and johnny cash. And obviously bob dylan. Also a lot of my friends influence me, you with your music and random arts n crafts and happiness, tommy alexander with his alaias, anthony walker with his tallness and his epic collages. Keoni Cuccia from ventura, he freaking charges! Also hes a great person has taught me quite a bit in the little time I've known him.Oh yes, My good friend Violet the pilot shes just a great person and is very talented and silly. The great Morgan Massen and Will Adler with there photos and Travers with his caring way of life and his concern about well being of others, and last but not least his amazing music. Lauren Yater has also influenced me, im not sure how to describe how but he is a special human, and im glad to have him close to me. and of course my pet snail, Martha, shes just dandy. These people and many others all have helped me be who I am today, I am very thankful to have such good people in my life. 

What is it about these people that influences you?

their creativity, openness, and caring ways of life.

What is your favourite food?

ice cream! if that doesn't count burritos!

Have you ever had an undeniably spiritual experience?
I can't say i had one that specifically stood out, I've had quite a few small ones that have changed my way of life or my way of thinking. My views on spirituality seems to change quite often. I hope to gain a better understanding of peoples 'spirits' and minds

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?

buy a bunch of property of the grip for my family and friends, save enough to live for a while. and give away what ever I can to try to help this falling world in whatever way i can.

Lastly, if you had a pet gremlin, what colour would it be? 

what do you mean if? 

i have one you've seen him, hes got gray hair, and is very intelligent, don't you remember?
